Upper Quarter Neighborhood Watch is sponsoring the 28thAnnual Kelly Marrione National Night Out Against Crime block party. Mayor Landrieu and Superintendent Serpas hope that neighbors and friends
participate in this event to support the City of New Orleans and the New Orleans Police Department. Our goal is to raise crime prevention awareness and reduce crime through community involvement of businesses,
civic organizations and residents of the French Quarter.
Last year we hosted 200+ Vieux Carre friends and neighbors along with the 8th District NOPD, New Orleans EMS, NOFD, and representatives of VCPORA, French Quarter Citizens and the Vieux Carre Commission.
We expect increased participation this year because of the date change. Participation is open to anyone who lives and/or works in the UQNW area bounded by Conti/Dumaine/Rampart/Bourbon.
Our block party is scheduled for Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00PM in the 900 block of St. Peter Street. UQNW wishes to invite you to participate by hosting a table that features your restaurant,
bar or civic organization and/or by donating to our efforts to purchase bicycles for officers in the 8th District NOPD.
If you are interested in participating, please contact us for details. We look forward to seeing you at the block party.
