The Louisiana Children’s Museum will host a Healthy Living Seminar Series beginning Wednesday, August 8, 2012 with the Nurturing Healthy Living seminar from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and then on Saturday, August 11, 2012 with the Growing Up Healthy seminar from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Each seminar will take place at the Museum (420 Julia Street) and has a specific focus that is intended to educate individuals on the importance of nutrition and healthy lifestyles starting at an early age.
The Nurturing Healthy Living Seminar on Wednesday, August 8 will feature Karen B. DeSalvo, M.D., Health Commissioner, City of New Orleans. Dr. DeSalvo will be speaking about the city’s Fit NOLA initiative and the importance of a community-wide effort to improve the health of our children. This
seminar is ideal for health professionals, including Physicians, Nurses, Health Educators and students interested in Health Education.
